We have been running Retreats for nearly a decade and we reckon we've cracked what the word 'Retreat' really means! The prefix 'RE, is often associated with moving back or revisiting, hence the words revert, retype, etc. Some retreats really do mean that - a stepping back, a place to perhaps hide away, recover, rest.
We see it a little differently...
Whilst we love the prefix RE for words like Reset, Recharge, Re-energise. The word Re means 'In reference to'.
The word 'Re' in our Retreats
stands for 'RE YOU'...
And yes it is a word - take note scrabble players! And here is the other difference of our retreats...The word 'treat' in Retreat, stands for exactly that - 'a treat'! We believe a retreat should be a place where you feel looked after and treated well. We are not about deprivation, we are about nourishing, nurturing ...feeding your mind, body and soul. Our job is to create the right space and environment in which you can rest, recover and grow.

Finca Mojito is a smaller venue where we can have up to 10 guest for private groups as well as individual stays. 5th - 8th July 2025 at Finca El Cerrillo

Nestled into the Andalucian Foothills, overlooking sweeping valleys and the beautiful national park is a little treasure called Finca El Cerrillo. I first heard about it about 16 years ago in a newspaper review and immediately thought what a wonderful place it would be for a retreat! Being either pregnant and/or up-to my eyeballs in nappies, I settled for a newsletter subscription and a dream that one day I just might get to sit on the Finca's terrace, G&T in hand...
...10 years ago, as another newsletter landed in my inbox, I hit reply and within a few days Finca El Cerrillo's wonderful owners, Sue and Gordon had sent me an invitation to come and stay.
Since that time I have taken many groups to La Finca, from small private groups and in the last few years, occupying all 14 rooms. Each time I go I discover more and more why Finca El Cerillo is the perfect place for you to find a little bit of renewed vigour, health and happiness!
We are returning to the Finca on 5th - 8th July 2025. The trip will be with myself and one or 2 colleagues who will provide a holistic, healing aspect to your trip. If you are interested in taking one of those rooms, please do complete the enquiry form below.
“After four days of healthy food, invigorating hill walks in the Andalucian hills and Pilates led by the inspirational Jane Wake in the beautiful setting of Finca el Cerrillo, I returned to London rested and refreshed. Highly recommended." Alison Siddiqui
"Thank you for a truly brilliant retreat. I loved the combination of Pilates Flow, Facial Pilates with Lynn, hiking in the stunning National Park, loads of sunbathing next to the gorgeous pool, R&R, chat and laughter with an amazing group of women, all topped off by a perfect stay at Finca el Cerrillo - beautiful rooms, lush gardens, delicious food. Simply magical." Clare Sheta
About Finca el Cerrillo:
Finca el Cerrillo is a restored 200-year-old farmhouse situated high in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara region of southern Spain. It was a working olive mill until the mid 1960's and has been carefully restored to preserve the charm and character of old Andalucia whilst providing modern comforts. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal - we aim to make you feel as if you are staying with friends. Many guests return year after year and have become good friends! Please check further details on the retreat here.

26th - 29th September 2025 at Finca Mojito
On Friday 26th September 2025 we will welcome you to Finca Mojito which sits near to the Moorish Village of Competa, nestled into the Tejeda and Almijara mountains in Andalucia, Southern Spain.
Looking out to the coast, when the temperature is right, you can see Africa on the Horizon. Finca Mojito is an old small farmhouse with 4 bedrooms in the house, arranged around a kitchen & living space. The Finca sits in large grounds with a further 3 large bedrooms in a newly built Log Cabin, beautifully situated and all with their own bathroom. These 3 rooms can accommodate two people each with their own double bed. There is an additional twin room in the house and 3 further rooms with double beds for couples or single occupancy. 2 of the rooms share a large bathroom, all other rooms have their own shower room.

Outside, as well as a beautiful pool and jacuzzi area, is a large outdoor kitchen and entertaining space where our chef will prepare and cook meals over an open BBQ and woodfired oven. To the right of the outdoor kitchen & dining space is our outdoor studio where you can enjoy classes, looking over the mountains and to the sea. There is plenty of space around the Finca to sit, contemplate or play. Each day on the retreat you will have either an early morning class or a walk in the mountains, a lunch time or afternoon lecture plus an evening class as the sun sets.
Jane will be your sole leader and will teach you her unique Pilates Flow as well as specific exercises and mindful meditations that do wonders for the heart and soul. The whole ethos of the retreat is to replenish. There is no restriction or mandate - everything is optional, everything is possible! You can drink beautiful local wines if you so choose or sip tea and juice.
There is a tradition on our retreats for afternoon tea & cake! Trust me - you’ll have earned it! But you can also choose to opt for healthier alternatives if you’d like. Punishing yourself with ‘go hard or go home’ exercise or highly restrictive eating is not the way to establish good practices for life. And good practices for life are exactly what we are all about.
We provide choice, guidance and recognise that this is your retreat. It's our job to help you create space and peace in mind and body so that you can go back with a much clearer direction of where you are going.
We are all about appreciating the good things that make you feel on top of the world - no guilt, no restriction.
Most of all we want you to know that you are in totally safe hands - you don’t have to think if you don't want to! Nothing is compulsory….It's time to fill your cup!

About Dr Jacqui Bryant (below right)
I have always been passionate about emotional well-being and mental health. As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, my 20 year dedication to working in the NHS has only solidified this. I appreciate the ever-increasing pressures we all face daily, and I am committed to increasing our resilience and ability to cope with these challenges. We often feel as though we should be able to handle these challenges, experiencing our overwhelm as a problem and seeing the need for support as a sign of weakness.

This can lead to a sense of stress, anxiety, low mood, and anger, as well as other difficult and heightened feelings. Over time, this can cause a decrease in self-esteem, confidence, and motivation. We can feel stuck in patterns of distress that we find unhelpful and isolating. Understanding these patterns, and developing new ways of coping, will help you to feel more in control of your life, and work towards resilience, acceptance and fulfilment.
I pride myself on my warm, thoughtful and person-centred style. Over the years, I have had the privilege of exploring many stories with my clients. In my work, I integrate a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I have a particular interest in narrative approaches which seek to develop shared understandings of people’s difficulties and makes visible, possibilities for preferred ways of living.
About Dr Anna Demery (above left)
I am a consultant clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience working with young people and adults in both private practice and previously in the NHS. Chartered by the British psychological society (bps) and the Irish Psychological society (IPs) and a registered member of the health and care professions council (HCPC),
My qualifications are a BSc psychology, MSc cognitive neuropsychology, Doctorate in clinical psychology (d.clin. psych.), Systemic family therapy qualification, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) trained clinician, Advanced cognitive behavioral therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) training and advanced dialectical behaviour therapy (dbt) training
I’ve worked with a myriad of clients, in various settings, using numerous therapeutic approaches, and strongly believe that anyone who wants support with their mental health and well-being should be able to get it. Therefore, I offer a flexible, person-centered approach to therapy to meet individuals needs and the goals identified.
